Ace Award Brighstar Used Caravan

The interior and exterior of this 2 berth caravan are in good condition. The main entrance door can be used a stable door - handy for ventilation. Comes with a Vision Plus Status 315 omni directional aerial. This caravan is ideally suited to the touring couple and represents very good value for money.

The Front Lounge
The front lounge provides ample seating for two people and a few more family or friends. The seating is still clean, nice and comfortable and the upholstery is in good condition. Beneath the seats is storage space suitable for a duvet, pillows & bedding etc. This area can either be made up into a double bed ( 6' 10" x 6' 3" ) or into two single beds ( both 6' 3" X 2' 4" ). There is a useful feature available when making the area into a double bed ( see photographs ). The slatted rail simply glides forwards and back to make the whole process much easier.

As you will see from the photographs there is a two drawer cabinet between the seats with the ability to pull out the top and provide a useful occasional table. There is no TV connection point at the very front of the caravan - but a TV station area is provided ( see below ). Curtains run on easy-glide rails - no more struggling with curtains that need to be tugged and literally yanked across.

For night-time lighting you can choose from any combination of the following ( all lights have individual switches so can choose which ones to have switched on or off ); two directional spotlights ( see photograph ), the main overhead light and two side mounted lamps that have diffusing shades ( see photograph ).

The Kitchen
The kitchen has a practical, central position in the caravan ( see layout ) and is smart, pleasant and practical. The grill and oven are seperate ( see photograph ) with the 4 burner hob ( 3 gas plus an electric hotplate - in good condition ) directly above. Beneath the oven is a useful compartment for baking trays and similar items. The Dometic fridge is a practical size and has the usual freezer section to the top. Utilising every bit of available space, Ace have provided a cutlery drawer between the top of the fridge and the worktop ( see photograph ) and a very narrow cupboard to the right of the oven for storing the dining table - excellent use of space indeed. It is considered good practice to seperate fridge and oven and a further storage cupboard with wired baskets does just this.

For night-time lighting there are 3 spot lights situated over the worktop and two main overhead lights that will light this area.

The Rear Washroom / Shower Room
The WC / Shower room is to the rear of the caravan and Ace have provided quite a good amount of space for toweling yourself down after a shower. The round shower cubicle itself is of a reasonable size. As well as the main overhead light for illuminating the washroom in general, the shower cubicle has it's own light and the washbasin also has a small spotlight above it. For storage Ace have provided a quite a substantial amount of open shelving, a really good sized cupboard beneath the washbasin and a large wardrobe type cupboard that has a hanging rail and shelves for other types of clothing. Very cleverly, these shelves can be accessed from the front because the mirror above the washbasin is actually a door ( a picture is worth a thousand words! - see photographs ). Finally, there are also a couple of drawers.

TV Station Area
Taking a central position in the caravan ( see layout ) and immediately to the left of the main door as you enter, the TV station area is where you will find the TV connection point along with a 12v and mains supply socket. Directly above is a cupboard with a smoked glass finish ( see photograph ) that provides storage for drinks bottles but also houses the Panasonic CD player / Radio ( see photograph ). The area has a number of drawers and shelves for storage ( see photograph ).

Hi Dick
I had a 36 months gold package with them and made a claim for a repair in France.
They paid 80% of the bill which was over 1100 euro.
In my book that was good value

Hi Glandwr.
I have had very good experiences with this company 3 years ago. Firstly, the power steering rack failed. One phone call to MB&G. I was asked where I would like to have it done, which was our local garage in Gretna. They then contacted the gararage. All I had to do was to sit and wait a few days until it was done.Brilliant!

Next was the kitchen tap which went in France--quick phone call to MB&G--kept receipt and was re-imbursed within 4 days of being back home. The integral bike rack hinges failed. It was repaired by Peter Hambilton, who did a brilliant job. Again, just a quick phone call to MB&G,and everything was sorted. I would only hope they are still as good now as they were then. I couldn't fault them. The warranty was in with the price of the van,so I can't say how much it cost but as the van was 10 yrs old I wanted some form of assurance for that 1st year. Incidentally,it's needed nothing since, other than basic service items. You can only speak as you find, but for me they were vey good.
