Elddis Avante 462 Club Used Caravan

2 Berth · Single Axle · Rear Washroom Layout · 2009 · Winterhoff WS3000 Stabiliser

As you will see from the photographs, this 2 berth caravan is in lovely condition. Probably ideally suited to the travelling couple; it does not need the largest of cars for towing.

The Front Lounge
This Elddis Avante 462 Club provides plenty of very comfortable seating especially for a 2 berth caravan. Both seats are the same length and measure 182cm each. The upholstery on both is very good indeed. At night this area can be made into a bedroom area with a double bed ( 6' 9" x 4' 6" ) or alternatively two single beds ( 2 @ 6' 0" x 2' 3" ). To make this task easier and more practical, there is an easy bed make-up system to aid this process ( see photograph ). This is an array of wooden slats that pulls out from under the two drawer cabinet to provide support for the beds. It is as easy to put away as it it to pull-out. There are large front doors to access the space beneath the seats ( see photograph ) or you can remove the seat cushions and get full access from above ( see photograph ).

The front lounge area has a good size rooflight above, which combines with the surrounding windows to provide plenty of natural daylight. Of course, on hot days the rooflight and windows also provide a means of ventilation, enabling you to relax in the lounge and enjoy your holiday. As you will see from the photographs there is the typical two drawer cabinet separating the seats, with an easy access, occasional table that slides out from the top ( see photographs ).

As well as the storage space beneath the seats mentioned earlier, there are lockers overhead, which run all around the lounge and a useful cupboard space at the bottom of the two drawer cabinet.

Entertainment is provided by the high quality, Sony CD / Radio player ( hidden in one of the overhead lockers - see photograph ), which is linked to the signal booster for improved signal reception and is of course connected to the two insets speakers at the very front of the caravan.

All windows have flyscreens, blinds and easy draw curtains. Night-time lighting comes from the two directional spotlights that have their own switches ( see photgraphs ) plus two fixed lights with front diffusers to avoid harsh, direct light mounted into panels level with the overhead lockers. There is a TV connection point with 12 volt and mains power sockets at the bottom of the two drawer cabinet.

The Kitchen
This is a small and compact kitchen that nevertheless serves well, with all the utilities you will need. To give more worktop space when preparing meals, there is a worktop extension flap ( see photograph ). The stainless steel sink has a full drainer so there is no need to pull out a drainer stored somewhere as it typical these days. The hob may only have three burners but one of them is a large high speed multi-function burner ( see photographs ). Inspecting the oven and grill you find that they are in very good condition which is also true of the Thetford 115 litre fridge. Let's not forget that other modern kitchen essential, the 700 watt, stainless steel microwave ( see photograph ) which again is in good condition and on the opposite side of the caravan.

Kitchen storage comes via two overhead locker cupboards and a handy unit below the worktop that is ideal for storing tin cans (see photograph ).

Daylight to the kitchen comes via the central window and there is a medium sized roofvent overhead to reduce moisture and the build-up of condensation. For nightime lighting there is a striplight over the sink and a main central ceiling mounted light.

The WC / Shower Room
Generally, people do not like cramped spaces in the washroom and this washroom gives good space around the Thetford swivel, cassette toilet and the washbasin etc. The circular shower cubicle has a practical, sliding door. Above your head you will find a roof vent to help reduce the build up of moisture and condensation and the main ceiling light for night-time.

As you will see from the photographs the washbasin area has a large wall mounted mirror at the back and handy storage space beneath. To the right of this is a large wardrobe with hanging rail. This is also were the main ding table is stored.

The TV Station Area
Immediately on your left as you enter the caravan and sensibly positioned to serve the lounge area, the TV station area has the usual TV connection, 12 volt and mains power connection points with a drawer, shelves and stoarge space to hand. Unlike many caravans the worktop for putting the TV on is not cramped either; indeed Eldiss have provided loads of space for this. Do remember that there is also a TV connection point at the very front of the caravan actually in the lounge.

Hi Dick
I had a 36 months gold package with them and made a claim for a repair in France.
They paid 80% of the bill which was over 1100 euro.
In my book that was good value

Hi Glandwr.
I have had very good experiences with this company 3 years ago. Firstly, the power steering rack failed. One phone call to MB&G. I was asked where I would like to have it done, which was our local garage in Gretna. They then contacted the gararage. All I had to do was to sit and wait a few days until it was done.Brilliant!

Next was the kitchen tap which went in France--quick phone call to MB&G--kept receipt and was re-imbursed within 4 days of being back home. The integral bike rack hinges failed. It was repaired by Peter Hambilton, who did a brilliant job. Again, just a quick phone call to MB&G,and everything was sorted. I would only hope they are still as good now as they were then. I couldn't fault them. The warranty was in with the price of the van,so I can't say how much it cost but as the van was 10 yrs old I wanted some form of assurance for that 1st year. Incidentally,it's needed nothing since, other than basic service items. You can only speak as you find, but for me they were vey good.

What Else Should I Know?
