Sterling Europa 460 Used Caravan

This 2009, Sterling Europa 460 is in good condition for it's year, with only minor blemishes on the interior and exterior. Exterior features include an AL-KO galvanised chassis and an AKS 3004 stabiliser for a better towing experience

The overall size of this caravan would suit many cars in terms of their towing capabilities. Ideally suited to a touring couple; particularly anyone starting up on their caravanning excperience.

The Front Lounge
For a 2 berth caravan you will find you can easily entertain upto two or even three guests and still have enough seating space. The lounge has it's own TV connection point with both 12 volt and mains sockets to hand; so if you want to watch a film on the box with your friends then this should be no problem. Further entertainment is available from the JVC radio / CD player which is out-of-sight in one of the overhead lockers. This is of course connected to the two insets speakers ( see photographs ).

Sterling have provided a very good amount of storage space in the lounge area; there are no less than six overhead lockers, a 2 draw cabinet with a cupboard section at the bottom and storage space beneath the seats. The space beneath the seats can be accesses either via the full width pull-down doors from the front or by removing the seating and lifting the hinged slatted wooden frame.

At night there is a choice of making this area into a double bed ( 6' 10" x 5' 11" ) or two singles ( 6' 3" x 2' 4" & 5' 11" x 2' 4" ). To make this task easier and more practical, there is an easy bed make-up system to aid this process. This is an array of wooden slats that glide out from under the 2 drawer cabinet to provide support for the beds. It is as easy to put away as it it to pull-out.

Daylight comes into the lounge via the surrounding five windows but also from the rooflight above. All have flyscreens and blinds. Night-time lighting is provided by a combination of four directional spotlights and the two lights that have front diffusers ( see photographs ). There is a celing mounted light that is positioned between the front lounge and the kitchen area. All curtains run on easy glide rails and are therefore easy to operate.

The Kitchen
The Kitchen is central to the overall design of the caravan and directly opposite you when you enter. Storage in a kitchen is clearly important for obvious reasons. In this kitchen there is a large overhead locker cupboard which has both a plate rack and a bottle rack in it. These can be removed if not required. Beneath the worktop is a tall, narrow cupboard that seperates the fridge and oven. It houses a cutlery draw and there is further storage space beneath this. Finally there is a storage cupboard beneath the oven. If this doesn't sound enough then don't despair. Directly opposite the kitchen is the TV station area which has more storage space than you will ever need for the TV - so this space is not only handy to the kitchen, but just waiting to be utilised.

For daylight to the kitchen there is the window behind the sink and a medium sized rooflight overhead. For nightime lighting there is a ceiling light which is positioned between the kitchen and front lounge. In addition to this there is a striplight located under the top cupboards that will light up the worktop and sink.

For preparing meals there is the full range of options; a microwave with digital controls, a dual fuel hob with 800 watt electric hotplate, a grill and finally the Thetford oven. Of course, you need some way of storing perishables and the 107 litre fridge with electronic ignition will take care of that.

The WC / Shower Room
The WC / Shower Room is situated at the rear of the caravan. Immediately to your left as you eneter, is a large wardrobe type cupboard with a hanging rail. It also has handy shelves suitable for stacking clothes on. The Thetford C-250 cassette toilet with electric flush is located in the lefthand corner. Above this is a storage cupboard that is a good size but not very deep. As we move round to the right a bit more we find the washbasin with mixer tap and storage for toiletries beneath.

Then, finally, we move round to the shower cubicle itself. This is a walk-in, walk-out cubicle - there is no door to operate. The 'P' shape offers a very good amount of space. Inside the cubicle you will find a light and two very handy and sensibly practical shelves ( see photographs ).

For daylight to the room there is smallish window and and medium sized rooflight. Night-time lighting comes from the ceiling mounted main light.

The TV Station
The TV connection point at the TV station has power sockets for both 12 volt and mains supply and is of course linked to the TV signal booster and in turn the Vision Plus Status 530 directional aerial. For storing items that you may use with your TV such as DVD's, cables etc there is a combination of cupboards shelves and a good capacity drawer.

Hi Dick
I had a 36 months gold package with them and made a claim for a repair in France.
They paid 80% of the bill which was over 1100 euro.
In my book that was good value

Hi Glandwr.
I have had very good experiences with this company 3 years ago. Firstly, the power steering rack failed. One phone call to MB&G. I was asked where I would like to have it done, which was our local garage in Gretna. They then contacted the gararage. All I had to do was to sit and wait a few days until it was done.Brilliant!

Next was the kitchen tap which went in France--quick phone call to MB&G--kept receipt and was re-imbursed within 4 days of being back home. The integral bike rack hinges failed. It was repaired by Peter Hambilton, who did a brilliant job. Again, just a quick phone call to MB&G,and everything was sorted. I would only hope they are still as good now as they were then. I couldn't fault them. The warranty was in with the price of the van,so I can't say how much it cost but as the van was 10 yrs old I wanted some form of assurance for that 1st year. Incidentally,it's needed nothing since, other than basic service items. You can only speak as you find, but for me they were vey good.
