• New Design - The most immediately obvious change is the appearance – Avtex Series 9 Pro is the largest design update Avtex have made since Series 7 was launched several years ago, and it looks fantastic. The new Avtex Series 9 TVs have just about the slimmest bezel possible and the design is polished off nicely with a brushed aluminium strip beneath the screen, matching the removable stand.
• New Size - The new Avtex Series 9 Pro range also offers a new screen size. Avtex L199DRS PRO is 19.5” corner to corner, offering a tidy solution to those of us who aren’t quite sure we’ve got room for the larger 21.5” L219DRS PRO or 24" L249DRS PRO, but felt left a little wanting by an 18.5” option – it might not seem like much, but when space is at a premium a couple of millimetres can make a big difference, and the edge-to-edge screen of the ultra-compact L199DRS PRO could offer that little extra justification to upgrade from an older and bulkier 16” TV when space is at a premium.
• Multi-Tuner - Another leading feature new with Avtex Series 9 Pro is the addition of multi-tuner technology. This is a feature that I’ve been asked a lot about in previous years, particularly at the NEC – the first question when describing the TV recording functionality is almost always whether you can watch one channel while recording another. Well, now you can, and it works across tuners, so you’re not limited to watching one Freeview channel while recording another – you can watch a Freeview channel while recording a satellite channel or vice-versa, so there’s no need to fight over the remote. You can even record a channel while watching a DVD.
• HDMI ARC - There are also some changes to connectivity with the Avtex Series 9 Pro, the most notable of which is the addition of a HDMI ARC port to facilitate the new Avtex SB195BT  - soundbar. The soundbar will offer previous sets a remarkable sound upgrade via coaxial audio or even a standard audio jack (and cables for all 3 options are included with the soundbar), but connection to an Avtex Series 9 TV via HDMI ARC will yield the most impressive results.

• Superb Picture Quality - Unlike many televisions by competitors that are only "HD Ready", Avtex's L249DRs-Pro actually has a built-in HD tuner (DVB-T2) for Freeview in High Definition ( subject to location / local broadcast ) and a DVB-S2 receiver for High Definition satellite reception ( a separate satellite dish is required ). As well as giving you additional HD channels to view, the combination of high definition with Avtex's LED back lit screen gives a beatifully crisp, sharp and totally breathtaking picture. The screen also has a wide viewing angle of approximately 170 degrees; this can be so useful in confined viewing spaces.
• Built In DVD Player - as well as playing DVD's other supported disc types include CD's ( CD-DA ), SVCD'S and VCD's. ( Note: 8cm discs are not supported )
• Record Programs - by connecting a USB Memory Stick or an external USB Hard Drive you can record or pause Live TV. However, this television also has EPG ( Electronic Programme Guide ) and you can use this to set timer recordings - no need to miss your favourite program just because you are out enjoying yourself - watch it when you come back.

• Freeview HD - get a massive range of channel options without any extra boxes or connections with Freeview HD. The system is a free-to-air digital service that comes already built into your TV.

• High Definition Satellite Reception - the TV comes with a DVB-S2 receiver for high definition satellite reception but a separate satellite dish is required.
• CI ( Common Interface ) slot - enables you to fit what is known as a CAM ( Conditional Access Module ) into which you fit a smart card in order to be able to view pay TV Channels and additional services.
• USB x 2 - use these ports to connect a USB Memory Stick or an external hard drive and give yourself the ability to record or pause live TV and timer scheduled recordings. You can also use these ports to read inforamation from the USB device. So for example if you have photographs as jpegs or MPeg2 files on a USB Memory stick you can view them using this television.
