Bailey Pegasus Brindisi S4 Used Caravan

General

This modern, 4 berth Bailey Unicorn caravan is in a very good condition both externally and internally. It has the comfort and convenience of a fixed double bed with a washroom to the rear. Due to the combination of surrounding windows, large front skylight and the rooflight above, the front lounge has a very pleasant feel that will give you that desire to relax and enjoy the space whilst on holiday.

If you plan to use the caravan with an awning there is an external awning light. The caravan has an AL-KO one-piece galvanised steel chassis and a Bailey Alu-Tech Bodyshell.

We describe the interior in detail below.

The Front Lounge

  • General View of the Bailey Pegasus Brindisi Used Caravan Front LoungeSeating - each seat measures 1.57 metres before cushions are put in place. The actual available seating measures at 1.33 metres giving plenty of seating for four people plus other guests. As you would expect from a 2017 caravan, seating is practical, comfortable, firm and in good condition.
  • Night-Time Lighting - the lounge has 4 directional spotlights each with their own switch This means that you can select which ones to have on or off. These are set into the 'four corners' of the lounge. In addition to these there are a total of 7 small, fixed spotlights; 3 are set into the ceiling and 4 are in front of the overhead lockers.
  • Daylight - as you can see from the photographs, the combination of surrounding windows, distinctive front skylight and the rooflight above, provide lots of daylight into the front lounge giving it a very pleasant and rewarding feel. The rooflight also provides a useful and easy method of 'climate' control.
  • Storage - The lounge has 4, standard width overhead lockers with a shelf in each. At the same level are 2 handy corner shelves. Further storage is provided by the 2 drawers at the front and the cupboard beneath these ( between the seats ). There is of course storage beneath both seats as well. This can be accessed by removing the seat cushions and lifting the slatted wood frame ( this gives full access ).
  • Using As A Sleeping Area - The front lounge has an Easy Bed Make-Up System. This is an array of wooden slats that pulls out and runs on a glide-track. It makes the process of changing the lounge into a sleeping area easier and less tiresome. To cut out light, all rooflights and windows have integral pleated blinds. You can either make the area into a double bed; 6' 3" x 4' 4" or two single beds; 1 @ 5' 3" x 2' 2" and 1 @ 5' 3" x 2' 2"
  • Entertainment - There is a Pioneer DEH-150MP Radio / CD player with aux connection point. The radio is connected to two Pioneer stereo speakers for entertainment and your enjoyment. The front lounge also has a TV connection point with 12 volt and mains power sockets - at the very front - located on the front window sill.
  • Other - An occasional table pulls out / pushes back-in from the top of the integrated drawer cabinet. Very handy for magazines, cups of tea and coffee etc.

The Kitchen

  • Bailey Unicorn Pegasus Brindisi Kitchen OverviewStorage - The kitchen has 2 overhead storage cupboards. Beneath the worktop is a cupboard with a curved, rounded front. This cupboard contains a cutlery tray draw and 3 other shelves ( see photographs ). Further storage can be found either side of the oven. Finally, there is a storage space beneath the oven suitable for baking trays and similar items. ( There is also a cupboard on the opposite side of the caravan, above the fridge )
  • Daylight - the wide window behind the sink and hob sheds light onto the worktop. The kitchen also has it's own rooflight above giving plenty of daylight into the kitchen area. The rooflight also provides a way of controlling moisture and condensation that cooking produces.
  • Night-Time Lighting - there are 3 fixed spotlights that shine directly onto the worktop surface. In addition to these there are some small lights to give ambient light to the area.
  • Cooking - The kitchen is fitted with a Thetford Caprice combined oven, grill and hob with electronic ignition and flame failure device. There is also Daewoo, stainless steel 800 watt microwave.
  • Hob - A Thetford dual-fuel hob with electric hotplate and 3 gas burners.

Brindisi's double bed

The Bedroom

Providing the convenience and comfort of a fixed double bed, the bedroom also comes with it's own TV station area. The bedroom is separated from the front of the caravan via a sliding, folding room separator.

  • Storage - 2 overhead storage cupboards with a small shelf unit between them. Cupboards with hanging rails are either side of the bed and beneath each of these is a further two more cupboards. In the corner of the bedroom there are 2 small cupboards ( 1 cupboard either side ). There is also the large storage space beneath the bed itself.
  • Daylight - there is a wide window opposite the bed and a rooflight. Both have integral blinds for night-time.
  • Night-Time Lighting - there are 2 directional spotlights over the bed at the headboard end - handy if you like to read in bed. In addition to these there are 2 small fixed spotlights for ambient lighting.
  • Other - On the wall directly opposite the bed is a wall mounted TV bracket. Nearby, is a TV connection point with both 12 volt and mains power sockets.

The Washroom
As you enter, immediately on your left, above the cassette toilet, is a wall mounted cupboard. Though it is not very deep, it is very useful for all sorts of toiletries. The cassette toilet is a Thetford C-260 with integrated header tank. Continuing round, we find the washbasin with single mixer tap. This has the usual storage cupboard beneath, but also to it's right-hand side are some useful shelves.

Finally, we come to the shower cubicle measuring 80cm x 60cm approximately. The cubicle has a sliding, bi-folding door for entry and exit. The shower is fitted with the popular, water saving, EcoCamel shower head. There is also a roof vent to reduce the build-up of condensation. The cubicle has 2 fixed spotlights for low light or night-time use.

Daylight comes into the washroom via the landscape shaped window behind the washbasin and the roof vent in the shower cubicle. For nightime lighting there is a main ceiling light operated by a pull-cord and the 2 fixed spotlights previously mentioned in the shower cubicle. There is also a wall mounted mirror opposite the washbasin.

USED CARAVAN WARRANTY FROM PENROSE TOURING

Warranty Included In The Price

Unless otherwise stated, the Penrose Touring price includes 12 months warranty provided by MB&G Insurance. At the time of purchase you are provided with a booklet produced by MB&G Insurance. The booklet explains what the warranty does and does not cover, what additional benefits you may be entitled to, the insurance conditions and how to make a claim under the warranty. The booklet also includes a claim form for your convenience.

MB&G - Who Are They?

MB&G Insurance are one of the few remaining privately owned warranty providers and have been in business since 1978. They are members of the Retail Motor Industry Federation, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders and the National Caravan Council and have staff who specifically deal with caravan warranty. To quote MB&G themselves

Dealing with a Caravan warranty claim can be a very complex situation, which is why you’ll be glad of our knowledge and expertise. We understand the difficulties and can point out the potential pitfalls, and we also work with the manufacturers too. We can even cover that old devil, water ingress – a common problem that doesn’t always have a common solution – for up to seven years. Put simply, you can rely on us whatever the weather.

How Does It Work?

The warranty contract will be between yourselves and MB&G Insurance. If you need to make a warranty claim then you contact MB&G Insurance direct. We have collected a couple of quotes from people who have made warranty claims with MB&G Insurance which we feel will be helpful.

Quote 1
Hi Dick

I had a 36 months gold package with them and made a claim for a repair in France.
They paid 80% of the bill which was over 1100 euro.
In my book that was good value

Hi Glandwr.
I have had very good experiences with this company 3 years ago. Firstly, the power steering rack failed. One phone call to MB&G. I was asked where I would like to have it done, which was our local garage in Gretna. They then contacted the gararage. All I had to do was to sit and wait a few days until it was done.Brilliant!

Next was the kitchen tap which went in France--quick phone call to MB&G--kept receipt and was re-imbursed within 4 days of being back home. The integral bike rack hinges failed. It was repaired by Peter Hambilton, who did a brilliant job. Again, just a quick phone call to MB&G,and everything was sorted. I would only hope they are still as good now as they were then. I couldn't fault them. The warranty was in with the price of the van,so I can't say how much it cost but as the van was 10 yrs old I wanted some form of assurance for that 1st year. Incidentally,it's needed nothing since, other than basic service items. You can only speak as you find, but for me they were very good.

What Else Should I Know?

The type/level of warranty applicable is dependent on the age of the caravan. The information provided here is not exhaustive; it is not possible to state what is included and what is specifically excluded by the warranty cover you will receive. If you require this information then you need to check your policy or request the information before purchasing the caravan.
