Caravan Description - A Walk Through
Looking at the overall shipping lengths, the Bailey Phoenix 440 is the shortest of the four, 4 berth caravans in the Bailey Phoenix caravan range. This means that because it is lighter and shorter than the other 4 berths, it can be towed by more makes and models of vehicles.
As you will see from the layouts, there is a fixed double bed with en-suite to the rear of the caravan ( bed size: 6' 3" X 4' 4" ). Many people look for the advantages that a fixed double bed provides, with no need to convert the area to and from a sleeping area and all that this entails. When further sleeping space is required the front lounge area must be converted to a sleeping area at night. The Phoenix 440 will provide either a double bed measuring 6' 2" x 3' 7" or alternatively two single beds measuring 4' 11" x 2' 1".
An 'easy bed make up system' is provided ( see photographs ). This is an array of wooden slats that pulls out from under the 2 drawer cabinet and glides on rails along the length of the seats. It just helps converting the area into a sleeping area or converting it back to the lounge. ( Note: the image of the nighttime layout only shows the double bed layout ). Naturally, all windows, skylights and rooflights have integrated blinds to cut out light and provide a darkened room ready for sleeping in.
A Feature To Mention
Almost a decade ago, Bailey caravans introduced the Alu-Tech Bodyshell, a significant departure from the conventional method of caravan construction that had remained unchanged for the previous three decades. The Alu-Tech Bodyshell provides increased strength and durability, improved insulation, improved protection, lighter caravans and better balanced caravans.
