Bailey Pursuit 400-2 Used Caravan

General

As you would expect of a 2017 caravan this 2 berth, Bailey Pursuit 400-2 is in really good condition both inside and outside. This Pursuit 400-2 has been made using the Bailey Alu-Tech body shell. This means it has thicker body panels and better thermal efficiency - which to you and me means it is lighter, but better at keeping you warm in the winter and cooler in the summer.

A really excellent caravan that is ideally suited to the touring couple who don't require or want a large caravan to tow.

The Front Lounge

Due to the many light sources the lounge has a very nice, light and airy feel to it. You will notice that there is no drawer cabinet between the seats. Instead it has been replaced by a flip-up, flip-down occasional table ( see photographs ). The upholstery is in excellent condition and the seating is comfortable. You access the storage space beneath the seats by removing the seat cushions and lifting the slatted wood seat frames ( see photograph ).

Entertainment is provided by the high quality, JVC CD/radio player ( see photograph ) which is linked to the signal booster for improved signal reception. This is of course connected to the two insets speakers.

  • Seating - each seat measures 1.60 metres approx in length before cushions are put in place, giving a more than reasonable amount of seating for a two berth caravan.
  • Night-Time Lighting - There are 2 directional spotlights, each with their own switch. This means that you can select which ones to have on or off. Also, there are two fixed spotlights set into the ceiling.
  • Daylight - daylight into the front lounge is provided by a combination of the surrounding windows and the skylight above. The close proximity of the kitchen means that light also comes via the kitchen rooflight.
  • Storage - The lounge has 3 extra wide, double width overhead lockers. At the same height as the overhead lockers are 2 shelves; one in each corner of the caravan. The storage space beneath the seats can be accessed removing the seat cushions and lifting the slatted wood frame ( this gives full access ).
  • Using As A Sleeping Area - The front lounge has an Easy Bed Make-Up System. This is an array of wooden slats that pulls out and runs on a glide-track. It makes the process of changing the lounge into a sleeping area easier and less tiresome. To cut out light, all rooflights and windows have integral pleated blinds. You can make the area into a double bed; 6' 8" x 5' 6" or into two single beds; 6' 2" x 2' 5" and 6' 1" x 2' 5"
  • General - curtains are on easy glide rails to make operation easy. All windows and the rooflight have integral flyscreens and blinds.

The Kitchen

The kitchen has a modern finish worktop which has an extension flap - providing just that extra bit of space when preparing meals. It can of course, be flipped down when not required.

All cooking options are catered for and appliances are nicely to hand. The kitchen comes with a Thetford Duplex combination oven and grill. Needles to say, they are in a lovely condition ( see photographs ). Set into the worktop is a Thetford 3 gas burner hob. And of course, no modern kitchen would be complete without a microwave. For storing perishables there is the Dometic 103 litre refrigerator with full width freezer top box and electronic ignition ( see photograph ).

  • Storage - The kitchen has 1 reasonably sized overhead storage cupboard above the worktop. Beneath the oven is a cutlery drawer with tray and another cupboard beneath that useful for storing baking trays etc.. It is very likely that the cupboards directly opposite in the TV station area would be utilised for kitchen storage also.
  • Daylight - the window behind the hob gives daylight onto the worktop ( this has an integral flyscreen and blind ) and there is a rooflight to provide general light to the kitchen.
  • Night-Time Lighting - The kitchen has a total of three fixed spotlights - 1 shines directly over the worktop whilst the other two are set infront of the overhead cupboard and microwave. In addition to these there are 2 further fixed spotlights in the ceiling giving general night light to the area.
  • Cooker - Thetford Duplex combination oven and grill with electronic ignition and flame failure device. In a lovely condition ( see photographs ).
  • Hob - Thetford hob with 3 gas burners ( 1 large, 2 medium )
  • Refrigerator - The kitchen comes with a Dometic 103 litre refrigerator that has a full width freezer compartment at the top.
  • Microwave - stainless steel Daewoo 800 watt microwave
  • Sink - recessed stainless steel sink with a single mixer tap.

The WC / Shower Room

The washroom is at the rear of the caravan. Immediately on your left, as you enter, is a wall mounted mirror above the Thetford C-260 cassette toilet. Next is the large, wardrobe style cupboard with hanging rail - ideal if you have a suit or clothes that need to be kept that bit tidier.  The washbasin comes next and has a small cupboard beneath for toiletries etc. Finally you will find the shower cubicle itself. This is fitted with the very popular, EcoCamel shower head. The shower cubicle has a vent in the ceiling which helps keep moisture from condensation to a minimum. The previous owners have also fitted a battery powered light in the shower cubicle.

  • Daylight - the window behind the washbasin gives daylight into the washroom. The vent in the shower cubicle also provides a small amount of daylight.
  • Night-Time Lighting - There is a fixed spotlight over the mirror and 2 other fixed spotlights on the ceiling as you enter. Previous owners have fitted a battery operated light in the shower cubicle.

Unless otherwise stated, used caravans from PENROSE TOURING come with a 12 month warranty for peace of mind.

USED CARAVAN WARRANTY FROM PENROSE TOURING

Warranty Included In The Price

Unless otherwise stated, the Penrose Touring price includes 12 months warranty provided by MB&G Insurance. At the time of purchase you are provided with a booklet produced by MB&G Insurance. The booklet explains what the warranty does and does not cover, what additional benefits you may be entitled to, the insurance conditions and how to make a claim under the warranty. The booklet also includes a claim form for your convenience.

MB&G - Who Are They?

MB&G Insurance are one of the few remaining privately owned warranty providers and have been in business since 1978. They are members of the Retail Motor Industry Federation, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders and the National Caravan Council and have staff who specifically deal with caravan warranty. To quote MB&G themselves

Dealing with a Caravan warranty claim can be a very complex situation, which is why you’ll be glad of our knowledge and expertise. We understand the difficulties and can point out the potential pitfalls, and we also work with the manufacturers too. We can even cover that old devil, water ingress – a common problem that doesn’t always have a common solution – for up to seven years. Put simply, you can rely on us whatever the weather.

How Does It Work?

The warranty contract will be between yourselves and MB&G Insurance. If you need to make a warranty claim then you contact MB&G Insurance direct. We have collected a couple of quotes from people who have made warranty claims with MB&G Insurance which we feel will be helpful.

Quote 1
Hi Dick

I had a 36 months gold package with them and made a claim for a repair in France.
They paid 80% of the bill which was over 1100 euro.
In my book that was good value

Hi Glandwr.
I have had very good experiences with this company 3 years ago. Firstly, the power steering rack failed. One phone call to MB&G. I was asked where I would like to have it done, which was our local garage in Gretna. They then contacted the gararage. All I had to do was to sit and wait a few days until it was done.Brilliant!

Next was the kitchen tap which went in France--quick phone call to MB&G--kept receipt and was re-imbursed within 4 days of being back home. The integral bike rack hinges failed. It was repaired by Peter Hambilton, who did a brilliant job. Again, just a quick phone call to MB&G,and everything was sorted. I would only hope they are still as good now as they were then. I couldn't fault them. The warranty was in with the price of the van,so I can't say how much it cost but as the van was 10 yrs old I wanted some form of assurance for that 1st year. Incidentally,it's needed nothing since, other than basic service items. You can only speak as you find, but for me they were very good.

What Else Should I Know?

The type/level of warranty applicable is dependent on the age of the caravan. The information provided here is not exhaustive; it is not possible to state what is included and what is specifically excluded by the warranty cover you will receive. If you require this information then you need to check your policy or request the information before purchasing the caravan.
