Bailey Senator Wyoming ( Series 6 ) Used Caravan

In a nice condition, this 4 berth Senator Wyoming has the added luxury and convenience of a bedroom with a fixed double bed.

With road safety and practicalities in mind this caravan has a combination of the AL-KO ATC Trailer Control System and the AL-KO AKS stabiliser  - a combination that should give you a safe and pleasant towing experience.

The Front Lounge

  • General View of the Bailey Senator Wyoming Used Caravan Front LoungeSeating - The actual length of the seats is 175 cm. The available lengths, after cushions are in place and up-to the draw cabinet is 130 cm. This gives plenty of seating for four people plus other guests.
  • Night-Time Lighting - the lounge has 4 directional spotlights each with their own switch This means that you can select which ones to have on or off. These are set into the 'four corners' of the lounge. In addition to these there are 4 small fixed spotlights set into the ceiling - around the rooflight -  to provide additional light options.
  • Daylight - the front lounge has a very reasonable amount of daylight coming into it. The combination of surrounding windows and the rooflight above, provide a balance of daylight sources into the front lounge giving it a pleasant feel.
  • Storage - The lounge has no less than 6 standard width overhead lockers and with these are 2 shelving units. Further storage is provided by the 2 drawers at the front between the seats. Beneath these is another small storage space. There is of course storage beneath the seats as well. This can be accessed in two different ways; by using the handy front doors, but these only give partial access or by removing the seat cushions and lifting the slatted wood frame ( this gives full access ).
  • Using As A Sleeping Area - The front lounge has an Easy Bed Make-Up System. This is an array of wooden slats that pulls out and runs on a glide-track. It makes the process of changing the lounge into a sleeping area easier and less tiresome. To cut out light, all rooflights and windows have integral blinds. You can either make the area into a double bed; 6' 10" x 4' 2" or two single beds; 1 @ 5' 9" x 2' 3" and 1 @ 6' 1" x 2' 3"
  • Entertainment - There is a Radio / DVD player. This can play many types of files and disc types. The radio is connected to two stereo speakers for entertainment and your enjoyment.
  • Other - An occasional table pulls out from the top of the drawer cabinet - this is very handy for cups of tea and coffee as well as magazines and newspapers. It is also very easy to put away.

The Kitchen

  • Bailey Senator Wyoming Series 6 Kitchen OverviewStorage - The kitchen has 2 overhead storage cupboards that are a good width with a shelving unit tucked into the corner. Beneath the worktop and between the fridge and oven is a cupboard with 4 storage baskets. There is a storage space beneath the oven that would suit baking trays and similar items. The microwave is on the opposite side of the caravan and there are 2 cupboards in this are ( what we call the TV station ) . These can be utilised for the kitchen if further storage is required.

  • Cooking - The kitchen is fitted with a Thetford Spinflo combined oven and grill with electronic ignition and flame failure device. There is also a Daewoo microwave - this is directly opposite the main kitchen area.

The Senator Wyoming Bedroom with fixed double bed convenience.

The TV Station

Central to the caravan, the TV station is directly opposite the Kitchen. It's position means that the television can be easily viewed from the front lounge. The station has the usual TV connection point, 12 volt and mains socket power points. These are connected to a signal booster and the aerial. There are also cupboards and drawers for storage of DVD's, leads etc or if you preferred these could be utilised for extra kitchen storage.

There is a viewing hatch between the bedroom and the TV station so that a television can be watched in the bedroom area if you so desire.  However there is also a wall bracket that swivels for bedroom viewing as well.

The Bedroom

The bedroom with fixed double bed offers a bit more comfort and convenience because it avoids the necessity to regularly convert the area to and from a sleeping area. As mentioned previously, there is a viewing hatch from the bedroom to the TV station area so that television can be viewed from the bedroom. The room can be separated from the front of the caravan by a sliding folding room separator.

  • Storage - The bedroom has 3 overhead storage cupboards and 3 shelf units. There is a large wardrobe style cupboard with hanging rail for clothes that need to be kept smarter. There are also a number of compartments with shelves for storing other types of clothing ( See Photographs ) There is also the large storage space beneath the bed. This can be an ideal place to store items like awnings.
  • Daylight - there are 2 windows in the bedroom plus a roof-light.
  • Night-Time Lighting - there are 2 directional spotlights over the bed at the headboard end of the bed - handy if you like to read in bed. For general light to the room there is main ceiling light.

The Wyoming WashbasinThe Washroom
As you enter, immediately on your left is a wall mounted mirror that has 2 fixed spotlights for night-time and low light conditions above it. The mirror is above the Thetford C-250 cassette toilet with integrated header tank. Moving round you will find a linen basket holder and wall mounted storage cupboard. Moving round further, we come across the washbasin with single mixer tap and further storage space beneath it.

Finally, we move round to the roomy shower cubicle - approximate sizes: 90cm x 63cm. The cubicle has a roof vent to help reduce the build-up of condensation. It also has a bi-fold, sliding door for entry and exit.

The washroom has a main ceiling light for night-time and a total of 4 fixed spotlights - 2 over the wall mounted mirror as mentioned previously and 2 over the washbasin.

Daylight is supplied by the large window behind the washbasin plus light comes in via the roof vent.

Warranty Included In The Price

Unless otherwise stated, the Penrose Touring price includes 12 months warranty provided by MB&G Insurance. At the time of purchase you are provided with a booklet produced by MB&G Insurance. The booklet explains what the warranty does and does not cover, what additional benefits you may be entitled to, the insurance conditions and how to make a claim under the warranty. The booklet also includes a claim form for your convenience.

MB&G - Who Are They?

MB&G Insurance are one of the few remaining privately owned warranty providers and have been in business since 1978. They are members of the Retail Motor Industry Federation, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders and the National Caravan Council and have staff who specifically deal with caravan warranty. To quote MB&G themselves

Dealing with a Caravan warranty claim can be a very complex situation, which is why you’ll be glad of our knowledge and expertise. We understand the difficulties and can point out the potential pitfalls, and we also work with the manufacturers too. We can even cover that old devil, water ingress – a common problem that doesn’t always have a common solution – for up to seven years. Put simply, you can rely on us whatever the weather.

How Does It Work?

The warranty contract will be between yourselves and MB&G Insurance. If you need to make a warranty claim then you contact MB&G Insurance direct. We have collected a couple of quotes from people who have made warranty claims with MB&G Insurance which we feel will be helpful.

Hi Dick

I had a 36 months gold package with them and made a claim for a repair in France.
They paid 80% of the bill which was over 1100 euro.
In my book that was good value

Hi Glandwr.
I have had very good experiences with this company 3 years ago. Firstly, the power steering rack failed. One phone call to MB&G. I was asked where I would like to have it done, which was our local garage in Gretna. They then contacted the gararage. All I had to do was to sit and wait a few days until it was done.Brilliant!

Next was the kitchen tap which went in France--quick phone call to MB&G--kept receipt and was re-imbursed within 4 days of being back home. The integral bike rack hinges failed. It was repaired by Peter Hambilton, who did a brilliant job. Again, just a quick phone call to MB&G,and everything was sorted. I would only hope they are still as good now as they were then. I couldn't fault them. The warranty was in with the price of the van,so I can't say how much it cost but as the van was 10 yrs old I wanted some form of assurance for that 1st year. Incidentally,it's needed nothing since, other than basic service items. You can only speak as you find, but for me they were very good.

What Else Should I Know?

The type/level of warranty applicable is dependent on the age of the caravan. The information provided here is not exhaustive; it is not possible to state what is included and what is specifically excluded by the warranty cover you will receive. If you require this information then you need to check your policy or request the information before purchasing the caravan.
