Lunar Clubman SB Used Caravan

In a very good condition both externally and internally, this 4 berth, Lunar Clubman SB comes with the benefits of a motor-mover ( please note: motor-movers are not included in the warranty ). Motor-movers are excellent for taking the stress ( mentally and physically ) out of the exacting task of positioning the caravan both on the camping site and on the home driveway.

With convenience and comfort in mind, the caravan offers twin, fixed single beds with a rear washroom - no need to make these beds up and take them down every night and morning.

The Front Lounge

  • General View of the Lunar Clubman SB Used Caravan Front LoungeSeating - the two seats are the same length. Actual size is 147cm. Available length up to the draw cabinet and after cushions are in place is 100cm ( dimensions are approximate ). This gives seating for four people. The seating is practical, comfortable, firm and in good condition.
  • Night-Time Lighting - the lounge has 4 directional spotlights each with their own switch. This means that you can select which ones to have on or off. These are set into the 'four corners' of the lounge. In addition to these there are 2 small fixed spots set into the corners, 2 small ambient lights in the ceiling and an LED striplight that runs across a large part of the caravan width.
  • Daylight - the front lounge has ample daylight coming into it. This is due to the combination of surrounding windows and the very large rooflight that actually runs from the lounge to the kitchen.
  • Storage - The lounge has 4 extra wide, overhead lockers. Further storage is provided by the 2 drawers at the front, between the seats. There is of course storage beneath the seats as well. This can be accessed in two different ways; by using the handy front doors, but these only give partial access or by removing the seat cushions and lifting the slatted wood frame ( this gives full access ).
  • Using As A Sleeping Area - The front lounge has an Easy Bed Make-Up System. This is an array of wooden slats that pulls out and runs on a glide-track. It makes the process of changing the lounge into a sleeping area easier and less tiresome. To cut out light, all rooflights and windows have integral pleated blinds. You can either make the area into a double bed; 6' 11" x 5' 0" or two single beds; 2 @ 5' 0" x 2' 5"
  • Entertainment - There is a Pioneer DEH-4700BT Radio / CD / MP3 player ( hidden in one of the overhead lockers ) with aux input and USB capability. Connected to stereo speakers. The radio is also connected to the Vision Plus VP4 signal booster.
  • Other - An occasional table pulls out from the top of the 2 drawer cabinet - this is very handy for cups of tea and coffee as well as magazines and newspapers. It is also very easy to put away. There is a TV connection box on the front window sill that provides 12 volt and mains power as well as TV and a SAT connection point ( see photographs ).

The Kitchen

  • Clubman SB Kitchen OverviewStorage - The kitchen has 2 overhead storage cupboards - both to the right of the microwave. Below the worktop is a cupboard that provides a cutlery draw and 2 pull-out storage baskets ( see photographs ). Under the oven is a cupboard suitable for baking trays and similar items. If you need more kitchen storage then bear in mind, that on the opposite side of the caravan there are more cupboards and 3 drawers.
  • Daylight - the wide window behind the sink, plus the large rooflight that runs from the lounge to the kitchen give daylight into the kitchen area. The rooflight also provides a way of controlling moisture and condensation from cooking.
  • Night-Time Lighting - The kitchen has an LED striplight tucked behind a small pelmet. This provides lights to the worktop, sink and hob unit. There are also 2 small spot lights set into the ceiling for ambient light to the kitchen.
  • Cooking - The kitchen is fitted with a Thetford Aspire 2, grill and oven - these are in a lovely condition. There is a Thetford dual fuel hob with 3 gas burners and 1 electric hotplate. It has electronic ignition. There is also a microwave providing further cooking options.
  • Refrigerator - The kitchen comes with a Dometic electronic fridge with removable freezer compartment.
  • Sink - recessed stainless steel sink with single mixer tap.
  • Worktop - there is a worktop extension flap for times when extra worktop space is required.

The TV Station

Central to the caravan, the TV station is directly opposite the Kitchen and immediately on your right as you enter the caravan. It's position means that the television can be easily viewed from the front lounge. The station has the usual TV connection point, 12 volt and mains socket power points. These are connected to a signal booster and the aerial. There are also cupboards and drawers for storage of DVD's, leads etc or if you preferred these could be utilised for extra kitchen storage. Note however that there is also a small connection box on the window sill at the very front of the caravan and TV connection points in the bedroom as well.

Clubman SB Fixed Twin Single BedsThe Bedroom

The bedroom has a highly symmetrical layout with left and right being almost the mirror-image of each other.

Many people like the handy convenience of a bedroom with fixed beds - doing away with the need to make a bed up every night and pack it all away in the morning. The bedroom has it's own TV connection point so that television can be viewed from the bed. There is a wall mounted bracket and both 12 volt and mains power sockets. The bedroom is separated from the kitchen by a sliding, folding room separator.

  • Storage - The bedroom has 4 extra wide overhead lockers - 2 either side. These lockers have a dividing shelf creating top and bottom sections. There is also the storage space beneath the beds - this can be accessed either by using the convenient front door or by removing the mattress and lifting the frame beneath.
  • Daylight - there is a window on both sides of the bedroom plus the roof-light. All have integral blinds for night-time.
  • Night-Time Lighting - there is an LED striplight set behind a small pelmet - 1 on each side of the bedroom. There is also 2 directional spotlights - again 1 each side of the bedroom at the headboard end - handy if you like to read in bed. There is also a ceiling light for general lighting purposes.

The Washroom
Situated right at the rear of the caravan. As you enter you will find the Thetford cassette toilet with the window above it and a storage cupboard above that. The cassete toilet has electric flush. As you move round the heated towel rail is next. A little further round and you find the washbasin with a storage cupboard beneath and a wall mounted mirror above. The washbasin has a single mixer tap.

Finally we come to the shower cubicle itself. This measures 80cm x 65cm approximately. The shower has been fitted with the popular EcoCamel shower head. This uses less water than a conventional/standard shower head. The shower cubicle has it's own light and a couple of small shelves built in to the lining. There is also a hanging rail above.

The washroom has a single window plus a rooflight for daytime light. The rooflight can also be used to control moisture / condensation. For low light or night-time lighting there is a main ceiling light plus the shower cubicle has it's own light.

Used caravans from PENROSE TOURING come with a 12 month warranty for peace of mind.

Warranty Included In The Price

Unless otherwise stated, the Penrose Touring price includes 12 months warranty provided by MB&G Insurance. At the time of purchase you are provided with a booklet produced by MB&G Insurance. The booklet explains what the warranty does and does not cover, what additional benefits you may be entitled to, the insurance conditions and how to make a claim under the warranty. The booklet also includes a claim form for your convenience.

MB&G - Who Are They?

MB&G Insurance are one of the few remaining privately owned warranty providers and have been in business since 1978. They are members of the Retail Motor Industry Federation, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders and the National Caravan Council and have staff who specifically deal with caravan warranty. To quote MB&G themselves

Dealing with a Caravan warranty claim can be a very complex situation, which is why you’ll be glad of our knowledge and expertise. We understand the difficulties and can point out the potential pitfalls, and we also work with the manufacturers too. We can even cover that old devil, water ingress – a common problem that doesn’t always have a common solution – for up to seven years. Put simply, you can rely on us whatever the weather.

How Does It Work?

The warranty contract will be between yourselves and MB&G Insurance. If you need to make a warranty claim then you contact MB&G Insurance direct. We have collected a couple of quotes from people who have made warranty claims with MB&G Insurance which we feel will be helpful.

Hi Dick

I had a 36 months gold package with them and made a claim for a repair in France.
They paid 80% of the bill which was over 1100 euro.
In my book that was good value

Hi Glandwr.
I have had very good experiences with this company 3 years ago. Firstly, the power steering rack failed. One phone call to MB&G. I was asked where I would like to have it done, which was our local garage in Gretna. They then contacted the gararage. All I had to do was to sit and wait a few days until it was done.Brilliant!

Next was the kitchen tap which went in France--quick phone call to MB&G--kept receipt and was re-imbursed within 4 days of being back home. The integral bike rack hinges failed. It was repaired by Peter Hambilton, who did a brilliant job. Again, just a quick phone call to MB&G,and everything was sorted. I would only hope they are still as good now as they were then. I couldn't fault them. The warranty was in with the price of the van,so I can't say how much it cost but as the van was 10 yrs old I wanted some form of assurance for that 1st year. Incidentally,it's needed nothing since, other than basic service items. You can only speak as you find, but for me they were very good.

What Else Should I Know?

The type/level of warranty applicable is dependent on the age of the caravan. The information provided here is not exhaustive; it is not possible to state what is included and what is specifically excluded by the warranty cover you will receive. If you require this information then you need to check your policy or request the information before purchasing the caravan.
